Peer Support Team Training (Civilian) - 16 Hours - January 29th and 30th 8am-4:30pm
When: January 29th and 30th 2025 from 8am-4:30pm (with breaks for lunch on your own)
Location: Washington County Government Center, MN (you will be emailed with directions and room details prior to the event)
Cost Per Attendee: $325
Who: This training is for any county or city employee (non-first responder) who would like to develop or join a Peer Support Team.
From this training, attendees will:
●Understand their role and responsibilities of a peer support worker and enhance their communication, interaction, decision-making, and support skills
●Be able to assess their own level of resilience and understand ways to enhance resiliency, be a model of wellness, and avoid burnout in this role
●Have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be develop and maintain a peer support team
●Have basic awareness to recognize signs of mental health challenges and how to provide peer support and access professional care while helping them move towards recovery
●Learn additional crisis management training, gain knowledge of how to identify and safely manage a crisis situation with a peer

Marie is assisted in this training by multiple law enforcement officers. In addition to teaching all the foundational components of being a peer support team member, we will also teach you the basics of setting up a team, running it, and maintaining it. We will teach you how to conduct defusings at your agency and we will provide you with options for clinical consultation for your team.
